Project
Name
Intelligent and Safe Platform for Energy Resource Management in Large-Scale Buildings
Description
This project proposes a disruptive initiative, which deals with sustainability, protection and safety challenges of building management. GREEDi main objective is to develop a platform for the intelligent and secure management of complex buildings. Main focus will be on the management and optimization of energy resources, considering demand flexibility as well as the usage of renewable sources of energy, providing the means for buildings to address new business models and become an active player in in the smart grid, with the capability of managing in real‐time its resources.
The platform will rely on a secure and interoperable communications infrastructure, able to monitor devices and equipment, including legacy ones, by means of gateways and the appropriate middleware, making data available to a set of advanced management and optimization services.
GREEDi will be available as a set of Appliances and Modules supported by IPBRICK OS. This project provides IPBRICK, the consortium leader, the opportunity to address new application areas and the entrance into emergent markets, such as those under the smart grids context, to reinforce the international presence and foster new partnerships. Also, this proposal is part of international project FUSE‐IT (ITEA nr. 13023), already evaluated and labelled by ITEA. It counts with 21 partners in 4 countries (Belgium, France, Portugal and Turkey).
